Redline Privacy Policy
Redline is a local-first browser feedback tool from ArchAstro. This policy explains the narrow data flow used by the Redline Chrome extension and its local helper.
1. Data Redline handles
When you create feedback, Redline handles selected text and comments, the page URL and title, a project tag if you provide one, nearby DOM context, and the selected element's position. If you separately enable full visual mode, Redline also handles visible-tab screenshots.
Redline handles the URL and title of the specific page you choose to redline. It does not monitor or collect a list of your other browsing activity, or page data from sites you have not enabled.
2. How Redline uses data
Redline uses this data only to create, display, retrieve, update, and delete the webpage feedback you ask it to handle; restore pending-page markers; and safely retry interrupted local operations.
Redline includes no advertising or analytics, does not sell data, and does not use your data to train models.
Redline's use and transfer of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
3. Where data goes
Redline stores submitted feedback in the Redline helper on your computer and does not send this data to ArchAstro. The Chrome extension stores limited browser state locally in your Chrome profile.
When you ask a coding agent to pull Redline feedback, that agent may send the selected feedback to its configured model provider under that provider's terms. Redline does not make that transfer until you invoke the agent workflow.
4. Retention
- Submitted feedback remains in the local helper until you delete it or clear local Redline data.
- In-progress Chrome drafts, temporary screenshots, and pending-page markers are retained for at most seven days.
- A content-free clear receipt is retained for 30 days so an interrupted clear can finish safely. It contains no webpage text, comments, screenshots, or URLs.
5. Permissions and controls
Redline requests per-site access only when you enable it for a site. Full visual mode is optional and separately requests broader website access so Chrome can capture the visible tab when you submit feedback.
- Disable Redline for an individual site or disable all enabled sites.
- Turn full visual mode off at any time.
- Delete individual feedback or clear all local Redline data.
- Disconnect a browser profile without deleting submitted feedback.
